Little People

Huge nostalgia attack tonight! We were talking about possibly getting the Little People airplane for Amelia for her birthday and one thing led to another and I started looking at vintage Little People stuff on EBay (it has its own category).
Oh, the memories! I didn't realize just how much of that stuff I played with as a kid until I started scrolling through the listings! I'd completely forgotten about this camping stuff, for instance. What are your favorite Little People memories?

Wow, I forgot about that camping stuff too! Man, the old stuff was way better than what they have now!

I forgot, we had the camping set too. It even had the camper trailer that folded open.

Little People are my ultimate nostalgic toy! I really wanted to have a bunch of the new ones for my kids, but they have never really taken to them. I don't know if it is because they are boys or because the new ones just somehow aren't as charming. I love those camping ones.

Ashley-
I totally agree. The old stuff was awesome. I'm having a hard time convincing myself to get the new stuff for the girls because the old stuff was so much better. I actually got all choked up when I saw the baby changing table, for example.

Oh, and Katie replied just as I did...I have that fear that they won't love them because they aren't as good...makes me want to forage for the old stuff on EBay. Everyone played with them and I NEVER heard of anyone choking...besides, James gives the girls DICE to play with!

The dice in question are large Las Vegas dice that I got for free with some Battletech auctions on Ebay several years ago.

Of course, it's all part of my secret plan to teach them to be gamers (PnP style) when they're older. I'm still trying to get Christie in by emphasizing the improv acting aspects.

Completely ignoring the fact that improv is my LEAST favorite aspect of theatre.

Must be why I keep failing. Or why I keep thinking I can use that as a selling point "improve that skill!"
